Namaste everyone is a term used when practicing Yoga, it is a mantra that means peace, a traditional Hindu greeting. With so many uncertainties in the world today, practicing Yoga is one way to bring a sense of peace and balance to your life. Yoga has been known as a physical activity that calms the restlessness of the conscious mind of constructively controlling mental and physical energy.
There are many different types of yoga, Hatha, Vinsaya, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Lyegar, Bikram, hot yoga, and Yin yoga.
One of my favorite types of yoga is Bikram, which consists of 26 postures, 2 breathing exercises practiced at 100 degrees with 40% humidity, and helps eliminate toxins in the body. Yoga can become a practice that you can do anywhere and for many different reasons. Yoga can improve flexibility, balance, breathing, and physical and mental health. When yoga is done consistently it has many health benefits and adds discipline to one’s lifestyle.
One of my favorite postures from Bikram Yoga is reclining hero, which helps open up one’s hips, relieves lower backache, relieves indigestion, acidity and flatulence, and is calming and refreshing.
Yoga has been known to reduce inflammation, and improve mental health. Try and see which yoga practice you enjoy and how affects your overall health.
